Hello Orangewood Family!
As you are well aware, a lot in the world has changed. Our leadership team has been in prayer and discussion through all of this, earnestly seeking the Lord's wisdom on our response as a community.
In honor of our state and federal authorities, the regulations/suggestions they have put forth, and out of where we sense the Lord leading, we have made the difficult decision to postpone any group gatherings and activities for the time being.
To break it down, here's what that means:
We will not be gathering for our regular Sunday services until further notice.
Youth activities/events including Wednesday night group have been put on hold.
Stay connected with us - we will be updating you as we have new information.
Here are the bright sides:
Every Sunday at 10:30am, we will be uploading a recorded video message on our Youtube page. This will include worship, announcements, and an offering blessing. If you are on our email list, you will receive an email with a link to the Youtube video on Sunday morning.
We will be increasing our digital communication! This means we will be increasing our presence on
Facebook, Instagram, and more frequent emails with updates and encouragement. If you are on any of these platforms, make sure you are following us to keep up to date through these times.
This is an opportunity for us to really lean into what it means to be a community! Social distancing does not mean spiritual distancing. In fact, this is a moment for us to come together even stronger. Call people, send messages, shop for those who can't - whatever it may look like, let's get creative on how to love each other well during this season!
We are not going anywhere! Feel free to reach out to Pastor Josh, Emily, or any of the board members. We love you and want to help support you the best we can.
We have all been hit with an onslaught of information over the past months. Information that can easily open the door to fear, worry, and anxiety. But be confident of this: we serve a God that gives peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful" (Hebrews 10:23). Our God is strong, faithful, and full of peace. Let's step into His promises and grace.
Church, we have a loving Father who cares for us deeply. Remember, "Oh, that's different!" Social distancing or not, we get to honor Him and walk each day together.
Love you, with you, for you,
- the Orangewood team
